East Williston Seeks Volunteers for Annual 5K Turkey Trot and Drumstick Dash

By Jim Hanel

The East Williston Fire Department is calling on community members to volunteer for the Annual East Williston 5K Turkey Trot and Drumstick Dash, scheduled for Thursday, November 28, 2024. This beloved event, held at Devlin Field on 7 Bengeyfield Drive, kicks off at 9:00 AM with the 5K Turkey Trot, followed by the Drumstick Dash at 10:00 AM, a fun race for kids ages 8 and under.

Volunteers are essential to making this event a success. Help is needed at the starting and finishing points to support the runners, as well as at various spots along the route to guide participants and distribute refreshments. Additionally, volunteers will assist with post-race cleanup and breakdown of equipment.

This is a great way to give back to the community and help uphold a cherished local tradition. Volunteers aged 16 and older, or younger volunteers accompanied by a guardian, are encouraged to participate. Those in need of community service hours will receive a letter of confirmation from the East Williston Fire Department.

If you're interested in volunteering, please reach out to me, Jim Hanel at jhanel@ewfd.org.

Let’s keep the tradition alive by supporting this fantastic event and fostering the spirit of community in East Williston!
