East Williston Softball Makes History with Double Championship Win

In a momentous achievement for East Williston, both the 10U and 12U girls' softball teams have clinched the 2024 Little League District 28 Championship titles. This marks a historic first for the district, showcasing the talent and determination of young athletes in the community.

Led by dedicated coaches and supported by enthusiastic parents and fans, the teams displayed exceptional skill, teamwork and determination throughout the season.

Giancarlo Negovetti, a key figure in the teams' success, expressed his pride in their accomplishments. "This achievement not only reflects the hard work of our players but also underscores the supportive environment fostered within East Williston softball," Negovetti remarked.

Bernadette, another integral member of the community, emphasized the significance of this milestone. "For both teams to secure these championships in the same year is truly remarkable," she noted. "It speaks volumes about the dedication of our young athletes and the coaching staff who have guided them."

The victories have sparked celebrations across the community, with plans underway for a formal recognition of the teams' achievements. There is a palpable sense of pride and optimism surrounding East Williston softball.

"These girls have worked tirelessly to become better softball players and the results are definitely showing,” said James Eichner, proud parent of one of the players, head coach of the 12U team and a board member of the East Williston Little League. “But as good as they have become as a team they are even better as people and an absolute joy to be around.”

With this historic double win, East Williston softball has not only made its mark in District 28 but has also set a shining example of sportsmanship and success for years to come. Congratulations to all!
