Mineola Union Free School District Names Rory Parnell as Principal of Mineola High School

The Mineola Board of Education is excited to announce the appointment of Rory Parnell as the new principal of Mineola High School. With over 23 years of experience in education, Ms. Parnell brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the role, having served as both an educator and administrator at various high schools in New York City and Nassau County.
Ms. Parnell is well-known for her commitment to collaboration, communication, and innovation, qualities that make her the ideal leader to continue the culture of engagement and success that defines Mineola High School. She is particularly passionate about creating an environment that prioritizes learner-centered instruction, emphasizing college and career readiness while fostering social-emotional learning to nurture the whole student.
Throughout her career, Ms. Parnell has worked tirelessly to place both students and families at the heart of the school community. By implementing policies, advisories, and school-wide programs embraced by all stakeholders, she has driven systemic improvements and achieved positive, lasting outcomes in each of her roles.
As a leader, Ms. Parnell is known for her transparency, vision, and heart, having demonstrated an ability to inspire transformation within the schools she has served. Her approach aligns perfectly with the district’s goal to reimagine learning and teaching while preparing students for career readiness and fostering a mindset of lifelong learning.
Ms. Parnell holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Fordham University and a Master of Education from Pace University. She also earned professional degrees in building and district leadership from the College of Saint Rose.
