Wheatley Homecoming 2024: A Day of Community Spirit and Athletic Pride

As the new school year unfolds, the East Williston community is gearing up for one of its most anticipated events—Wheatley Homecoming 2024!
On Saturday, September 28, 2024, students, families, and community members will gather to celebrate school pride, honor athletic achievements, and enjoy a day full of fun activities for all ages.
A Packed Day of Athletic Events
Wheatley Homecoming kicks off with an exciting lineup of games featuring both junior varsity and varsity teams across various sports. Whether you're a tennis enthusiast, a soccer fan, or a volleyball supporter, there's something for everyone:

9:00 AM: JV/Varsity Girls Tennis Scrimmage vs. Kellenberg
11:00 AM: Wheatley Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
1:00 PM: JV Girls Volleyball Match vs. Carey
3:00 PM: JV Boys Soccer Game vs. Cold Spring Harbor (CSH)
3:00 PM: Varsity Girls Volleyball Match vs. Carey
5:00 PM: Varsity Boys Soccer Game vs. CSH
7:00 PM: Varsity Girls Soccer Game vs. Oyster Bay
Halftime Performance: Varsity Game Day Cheer
The day will culminate with the Varsity Girls Soccer game, featuring a thrilling halftime performance by the Varsity Game Day Cheer team, sure to energize the crowd.
Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
One of the highlights of the day is the Wheatley Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at 11:00 AM. The ceremony will honor some of Wheatley’s most accomplished athletes and contributors:

The 2018 Varsity Girls Soccer Team
These individuals and teams have made lasting contributions to Wheatley's athletic legacy, and their induction will be a moment of pride for the entire community.
Fun for the Whole Family
In addition to sports, there are plenty of activities to keep the entire family entertained. From 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, kids can enjoy fun-filled activities on the softball field, including games and raffles. And no homecoming celebration is complete without delicious food! A BBQ, ice cream truck, pizza, and cotton candy will be available throughout the day, making it a perfect outing for families of all ages.
For aspiring cheerleaders in grades 3-7, the Varsity Game Day Cheer team will be hosting a Cheer Clinic at 1:30 PM by the Wheatley track. It’s a fantastic opportunity for younger students to get involved, learn new skills, and support their school spirit. The clinic requires a small $10 donation to the Wildcat Athletic Foundation, and you can register here.

Wheatley Homecoming would not be possible without the tireless efforts of the PTO, Wildcat Athletic Foundation, Class Advisors, and Club and Class Advisors. Their commitment to fostering a vibrant and engaged community ensures that this event is a success year after year.
