By Williston Park Staff
Mineola’s elementary schools came alive with Halloween spirit on October 31, as learners and teachers celebrated the spooky season with joy and creativity. Under unseasonably warm skies, each school hosted its own special festivities, making the day memorable for students and their families.
At Meadow Drive School, learners showcased their imaginative costumes in a lively Halloween parade, marching proudly around the school track not once, but twice, while parents gathered to cheer them on. The colorful display was a highlight of the day, as students took center stage in their costumes, from classic ghosts and goblins to superheroes and storybook characters.
Over at Jackson Avenue School, students enjoyed a thrilling “Freaky Field Day.” Dressed in costumes, they competed in games, relay races, and various outdoor challenges. Inside the school, parents transformed a backstage area into a haunted house, where brave learners could enter and explore a world of eerie sights and sounds, with spine-tingling surprises lurking around every corner.
The Halloween excitement continued at Hampton Street School, where the grand Halloween parade took place on the Hampton Stadium track. Learners paraded in costume while parents and family members filled the stands to enjoy the spectacle, creating a fun and festive atmosphere for all.
These Halloween celebrations brought smiles and laughter to the Mineola community, creating memories and a festive spirit that lasted all day.
