Williston Park Fire Department Hosts Open House for Fire Prevention Week

By John Clarke

On Sunday, October 13, 2024, the Williston Park Fire Department welcomed residents to its annual Open House, celebrating Fire Prevention Week with engaging activities and essential fire safety education.

Attendees were treated to a vehicle rescue demonstration, showcasing the skills and teamwork required for emergency responses. Both children and adults received valuable fire prevention materials, emphasizing the importance of fire safety practices at home and in the community.

The Fire Department's Chiefs Office reminds everyone to prioritize fire safety all year long. Practicing simple preventive measures—like checking smoke alarms, developing escape plans, and staying informed—can save lives.

The Open House served not only as a demonstration of the department’s capabilities but also as a call to action for the entire community to remain vigilant about fire safety throughout the year.

Thank you to the Williston Park Fire Department for your ongoing dedication to keeping the community safe!
