The Best Day Ever!

Have you ever been so happy that you were super excited? That's exactly how I felt when I went to the Mets game. One afternoon, my family, friends, and I went to Citi Field. A security guard walked us onto the field to watch batting practice.

This warm-up period took about one hour.  The most exciting thing happened—my dad spotted Pete Alonso. He shouted loudly, "Pete, Pete! Come over here!" Unfortunately, it didn't work, and Pete Alonso left the field and went to the dugout.

Although I was sad that Pete Alonso didn't come over, I was still able to take pictures and have my glove signed by some famous Mets players and coaches. First, I saw Carlos Mendoza. He wasn't too thrilled about the Phillies jersey I was wearing, but he still took a picture and signed my glove. Harrison Bader, who happened to give us the tickets, did the same. Lastly, I had Starling Marte take a picture and sign my glove once he finished batting practice. Even though I had to wait, it was worth it!

This incredible day concluded with a Mets and Phillies rivalry game. I'm sad to say that the Phillies lost, and I didn't even get to see the closing pitcher, Edwin Diaz.

This experience taught me to have patience when waiting for something exciting.
